𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐅𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐄 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭: 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

Through the AVIFAUNE Project, birdhouses are installed across the UM6P campuses to provide safe shelters for local bird species and encourage nesting in a protected environment.

This initiative helps preserve biodiversity, restore ecological balance, and create a more nature-friendly campus.

𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 : 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐌𝟔𝐏

On March 12, the Sustainable Development Office, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences, welcomed 5th grade students from the American School of Marrakech to the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic campus in Benguerir.

The presentation at the SD Space was led by the Sustainable Development Makers, introducing students to the mission and activities of the Sustainable Development Office. Students explored the meaning of sustainability through an interactive presentation and SDG-themed games.

The visit continued with a campus tour showcasing sustainability projects, followed by a guided visit to the Faculty of Medical Sciences laboratories, offering students a first glimpse into scientific research and innovation.

The experience concluded with a hands-on planting workshop organized by the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Transfer Center through the Go Plant project, encouraging students to connect with nature and understand the importance of protecting our planet.

Together, we inspire the next generation of changemakers.

𝟗𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 : 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭

On Tuesday, March 3, the Sustainable Development Office organized the 9effat Ramadan initiative with the active support of the Sustainable Development Makers (SDMs).

As part of this initiative, more than 130 food baskets were distributed to families in Douar Tourcht Setti Fadma and to children at the Aicha Oum Al Mouminin Orphanage in Benguerir.

Beyond material support, the action reflected the values of solidarity, dignity, and community engagement that guide our sustainability efforts. Through the mobilization of our student changemakers, the initiative translated commitment into meaningful action on the ground, strengthening the bond between the university and its surrounding communities.

Together, we move from intention to action.

𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐣𝐚

On February 12th, as part of the Go Plant Project, the Sustainable Development Office, in collaboration with AITTC and with the participation of the Sustainable Development Makers, organized a tree-planting workshop for students from the public primary school École Amira Lalla Khadija. This initiative is part of the Green Schools Program: Planting Seeds for a Greener Future in Rhamna.

With 25 students actively participating, a total of 87 plants were planted, contributing to the greening of the school environment and creating a hands-on learning experience. This workshop aimed to raise environmental awareness among young learners, helping them understand the critical role trees play in biodiversity preservation, climate resilience, and building sustainable communities.

Together, we nurture knowledge, responsibility, and hope—planting the seeds today for a sustainable tomorrow.

𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

On February 5, the Sustainable Development Office in close collaboration with the General Affairs Direction and its Facility Management Division organized the Warm Winter Campaign at Orphelinat Aicha Oum Al Mouminin in Benguerir, with the support of the Sustainable Development Makers.

The initiative mobilized students and staff to collect and distribute winter clothing and essential items, bringing warmth, care, and moments of sharing to the children during the winter season.

By engaging student-led action, the campaign translated sustainability values into tangible social impact, reflecting UM6P’s commitment to community engagement and social well-being.

In celebration of the International Day of Clean Energy on January 26, the Sustainable Development Office proudly highlights the UM6P Solar Tree, installed on the Benguerir and Rabat campuses and funded by the Sustainable Development Fund.

This 100% Moroccan innovative creation stands at the intersection of art, clean energy, and community life. Beyond generating solar power, the Solar Tree offers a welcoming and inclusive space for students and staff, featuring charging ports, comfortable seating, night lighting, and full accessibility.

Through initiatives like the UM6P Solar Tree, UM6P continues to transform campuses into living laboratories for sustainability where innovation supports well-being and collective engagement.

On January 21st and 22nd, Sustainable Development Makers (SDMs) led interactive workshops to raise awareness about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals among their peers. By sharing real examples of projects and initiatives from the Sustainable Development Office, SDMs connected global goals to local action.

The sessions also spotlighted biodiversity initiatives, encouraging participants to engage actively in sustainability efforts.
