what exactly is diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease that occurs when the body’s immune system that fights the body’s infection attacks and destroy the insulin beta cells of the Pancreas.
For a clear understanding,,,, in a normal way, anytime you eats, your pancreas which is sitting on top of your liver releases insulin, the insulin is what regulates your blood sugar level and keeps it in a normal range.
So when your immune system attacks this pancreas, there’s no more insulin to regulate your blood sugar level, and the blood sugar level will spike and keep going higher, that is when you develop diabetes.
The major causes why the immune system attacks the body system is still yet unknown as the scientists haven’t come up with any credible evidence why such attacks happens, but it is believed that environmental factors and genes are most of risk factors.
There are stages of diabetes,
1) type 1 diabetes
2) type 2 diabetes
3) Gestational diabetes
4) pré-diabetes
But the most deadliest type of diabetes that is being considered a life threatening is the END-STAGE DIABETES. but for this to happen, means that you have been living with diabetes for over many years, sometimes it’s either you aren’t managing the disease very properly or the disease has stopped responding to treatment which is called (Insulin resistance)
