Levelling Ramps.

We used the standard yellow Fiamma levelling ramps, most of the time they do the job well. Occasionally they don't give enough lift to properly level us, resulting in the fridge struggling, especially in this hot weather.

What do you think of the Milenco Quattro 4s? Anyone got them? They seem good quality but before we switch from something that works most of the time, I thought I'd canvas the community.

All Change!

For reasons we shan't go into publicly, other than to say we've both agreed, on reflection, after almost a year on the road, to take a break from full time-ish travel. We're going to keep Road Runner, our wonderful home on wheels and still take the odd breaks now and again.

It's been epic, far surpassing our expectations and a short break will create conditions for it to be more permanent and sustainable for the long term.

In a previous life, we used to have a saying "time spent on a recce is seldom wasted". The last few years have furnished us with an abundance of knowledge about permanent van living, although we're still finding out new things which is part of the journey, and the fun!

Here's to life on (and off) the road.

Peace and Love to all.

Mullaghmeen Forest, decimated by Storm ร‰owyn, which struck Ireland on 24 January 2025.

Such a beautiful place to stay and walk the pathways through the forest. A large free carpark, no restrictions for overnight staying.

Some areas entirely razed to the ground, it's hard to imagine how terrifying it must have been as so many mighty trees came crashing down. Some areas seem to have escaped the worst of it.

Despite the devastation, much of the woodland remains, and it is a beautiful place to stay. The pathways have mostly been cleared of timber debris, and the scale of the devastation is evident with the huge piles of sawn timber lining some of the pathways.

Spot the difference! It's amazing how much a place can change with the weather.

A little less tropical today, but still very pleasant, very pleasant indeed!
