There's never been a better time to explore on your own doorstep. If you're lucky enough to live in the UK, that means a network of ancient roads, bridleways, byways and tracks, old drover's roads and forestry fire roads.

Instead of a holiday seeking foreign lands in this year of uncertainty, why not make the most of what's local?

There are tonnes of fantastically thought through bikepacking and off road routes here in the UK. Here's a photo from .cc's ride of the Second City Divide from last September, 600km linking the cities of Glasgow and Manchester, which we chatted about in episode 2.

From very different beginnings, both Philippa Battye and Tom Probert are experienced endurance riders, having completed , Silk Road Mountain Race, numerous The Transcontinental races, Further and Italy Divideto name just a few.
But how do you get into this kind of racing, and what are the mistakes you learn from along the way? We huddled around the campfire with some whiskey and our friends to find out.
