If you needed more reason to hightail it to the Highlands... This month’s Further has a double shot of Scotch adventures, as checks in on Wildland, one of the most ambitious conservation projects Europe has ever seen.

Thanks to light-touch interventions and thoughtful land management, .scot is already coaxing a swath of the Glenfeshie valley back to lush green life. That’s just the beginning: the founders have a 200-year plan to restore Scotland’s epic landscapes, across 220,000 acres, between the Cairngorms and the Sutherland coast.

On its properties Wildland happens to run some unerringly stylish and inviting hotels, ranging from a Scandi-chic stone farmhouse in the Cairngorms (.scot) to a turreted castle on the shores of Loch Ness (.scot).

Swipe through the carousel for a taste of what you’ll find, indoors and out, at these extraordinary retreats. We say run, don’t walk — and *then* you can walk, in that glorious juniper-scented air, for miles and miles, until you find your bliss. And perhaps a free-roaming Highland pony or three.

Legendary architect Bill Bensley — the creative force behind so many of your favorite hotels and resorts — has lived in Bangkok for three decades. It’s fair to say few people know the city better, or love it more. “This is a 243-year-old royal capital. There are things you can do and see here that you can’t find anywhere else,” he told Further, sharing 22 essential places to eat, drink, shop, and find beauty in one of Asia’s most dynamic (yet often confounding) cities.
