U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the United States and Iran had reached a peace agreement, declaring an end to more than three months of conflict that began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on Feb. 28.

“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” Trump said in a statement.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also confirmed that a ceasefire was “now in place,” saying both sides had agreed to the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon. Morocco’s U.N. Ambassador Omar Hilale co-chaired a meeting of the U.N. Group of Friends on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development on Friday ahead of the first Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance, scheduled for July 6-7 in Geneva, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).

The meeting gathered the U.N. Group of Friends on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development, which includes more than 60 member states.

Hilale said the Geneva dialogue would serve as a test of whether the multilateral system can effectively govern a technology that is already reshaping economies, societies, and global power dynamics.
