Last night, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and renowned explorer Enric Sala, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation had the honor of hosting a special screening of "Ocean with David Attenborough" at the Grimaldi Forum.

As a proud partner of this powerful film, alongside National Geographic Pristine Seas, we believe in its message: understanding and protecting our ocean is paramount for the future of our planet. The screening, held in the framework of the Blue Economy and Finance Forum (BEFF), highlighted the critical intersection of ocean health and sustainable economic development.

Sir David Attenborough's breathtaking narration reminds us all of the immense beauty and urgent vulnerability of our marine ecosystems. It’s a call to action we must answer together.

The Blue Economy and Finance Forum ( ) kicks off as part of the UN Ocean Conference this weekend, June 7th and 8th in .

The United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) will be held in Nice from 9 to 13 June 2025, co-organised by France and Costa Rica.

The BEFF aims to bring together solutions to support the blue economy and safeguard marine ecosystems, in response to Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG14).

The ocean economy is projected to exceed $3 trillion by 2030.

Over two days, BEFF will dive into:
- Investing for ocean health, preservation and resilience
- Financing a regenerative and sustainable blue economy
- Transforming blue ports and shipping
- Ensuring sustainable ocean governance and finance

For the movie buffs, here's the 'official selection' for the 78th Cannes Film Festival May 13 – 24 and the movies making the news.

The biggest premieres include “Die My Love,” which pairs Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson as a couple in a crumbling marriage; the new Spike Lee film, “Highest 2 Lowest,” with Denzel Washington; and Wes Anderson’s caper “The Phoenician Scheme,” with Benicio Del Toro leading an ensemble that includes Michael Cera, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hanks and Riz Ahmed.

Hollywood hero, Tom Cruise will debut his final “Mission: Impossible” movie on the festival’s second day.

There’s also the romantic drama “The History of Sound,” with Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor; Richard Linklater’s “Nouvelle Vague,” a tribute to the French new wave; and “Eddington” from Ari Aster (“Midsommar,” “Hereditary”), with an A-list cast featuring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone and Austin Butler.

The 78th Cannes Film Festival is about to start and will run from May 13 - 24. Here are a few of the highlights to anticipate over the next week.

Cannes 2025 opens with star power and global cinema’s boldest voices. Hollywood heavyweights Tom Cruise, Pedro Pascal, and Scarlett Johansson are among the most anticipated arrivals, marking the start of the world’s most prestigious film festival.

The festival’s opening ceremony will also honor screen legend Robert De Niro with an honorary Palme d’Or, celebrating his decades-long contribution to global cinema. Nicole Kidman will receive the Women in Motion Award on May 18, 2025.

Emerging talent will be a focal point this year. Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Stewart, and Harris Dickinson—all attending as first-time directors—will debut films in the festival’s sidebar categories, signaling a generational shift among actor-directors.

The festivities begin with the French-language comedy Leave One Day by Amelie Bonnin, setting a light-hearted yet reflective tone for the days to follow.
