📖 History: Times Square was originally known as Longacre Square. In 1904, The New York Times moved its headquarters to the area, and Longacre Square was renamed Times Square. Over the years, it became famous for Broadway theaters, bright signs, entertainment, and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
