1. Do you think the writer has a special role to play in our society?

I believe that a ‘writer’ has the potential to transfigure our perception of the isomorphic world we transverse. This is because the ‘writer’ is first to be transformed by their experiences and questioning and contemplation of what needs a metamorphosis in their life. Ergo, the connection to real-world events, allows the reader to identify with the author’s words, and this gives way to the acceptance of ‘possibility’ based on another’s adventure. It is on this premise that we allow ourselves to delve into a metacognitive exercise to assess our current praxis and determine if we are content with our present path.

2. What is the message you want to convey to readers?

Find a dream that acts as a catalyst. It must stir within you an activation of intrinsic energy so powerful that you are forced to ‘move’. Use this momentum to methodically take a step closer to your goal, and do so, one day at a time.

3. How was the publishing experience? Please describe Generis Publishing in a few words.

It was a gratifying journey to work with the individuals that are the heart and soul of Generis Publishing.

The message I hope to pass to readers:

My notebooks began as a self‑rescue mission: scattered sketches, déjà‑vu moments and half‑finished diagrams that gradually conspired into a single mosaic. Along the way I learned to hunt for patterns—archetypes that simplify what first looks chaotic—and to treat each déjà‑vu as a hint that time itself is braided. If my pages do anything, I hope they invite you to the same inward cartography: map your loops, name your patterns, see how “Me” and the seemingly changeable “Not‑Me” interlock. When noise is organised, insight appears; when insight appears, compassion follows. In the end my books are less about my conclusions than about giving you one more vantage‑point from which to practise the oldest counsel etched above Delphi’s gate: “Know Thyself.”

Publishing with Generis—how did it feel?

In one word: synchronicity. Generis arrived like the friendly stranger in folklore—just when I had a manuscript in my pocket and only a hunch that it deserved a wider fate. From the first courteous e‑mail to the moment I unboxed the printed volumes, their team proved both nimble and unwavering: professional guidance, prompt answers, genuine enthusiasm for ideas that wander off the beaten path. It felt less like signing a contract and more like joining an ecosystem—an agile network of “literary angels” (and, in my case, an occasional AI whisperer behind the curtain). If dreams require a well‑fitting glove, Generis tailored mine. I look forward to many more miles together.

1. Do writers still have a special role to play?

Absolutely—perhaps more than ever. Across history the written word has acted like a slow‑moving wave: it starts as a private intuition, ripples through a community, and sometimes travels undiminished for centuries. Today we label such currents influence, but the mechanism is the same: language reaches past the moment, enters conscience and subconscious at once, and quietly helps decide “who we become.” That makes authors—whether novelists, lyricists or long‑form posters—custodians of a sacred pantry: they prepare the food of thought. If we want a healthier collective diet, we must ask writers to season their work with responsibility, curiosity and empathy. They are translators between eras, cultures and academic silos; their dictionaries let tomorrow’s readers keep conversing with yesterday’s voices.

This book aims to examine and appreciate the critical role that intelligence, or the lack of it, has played in informing the respective policy makers who have fundamentally shaped and mapped the space of land inhabited by indigenous peoples that would eventually be known as Kenya in 1920.

The book covers Kenya's journey into the world of security and the critical role that intelligence gathering, collation, and dissemination have played in preparing policy decision makers in government.

The book traces the intelligence journey from Colonial times, outlining the challenges faced by the colonial state. Post-independence, the young nation of Kenya inherits, a colonially structured intelligence service that serves the country for several decades.

This changes with the appointment of Brigadier (Rtd) Wilson A. C. Boinett, an outsider, to lead the service. He effects change and professionalizes the service, transforming it from the dreaded Colonial Special Branch to a civilian National Security Intelligence Service. This is the story of that amazing transformative journey.

“From Al-Khwarizmi to AI” bridges a thousand-year intellectual journey, tracing the algorithmic roots of artificial intelligence to the pioneering genius of 9th-century scholar Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi. This groundbreaking work highlights the underrecognized contributions of Islamic civilization to the digital age, showing how structured reasoning and algorithmic logic laid the foundations for today’s AI revolution. Spanning seven chapters, the book offers a multidisciplinary exploration of AI’s global impact—examining ethical governance, cybersecurity, education, humanitarian aid, and the integration of Arabic in natural language processing. AlKhwarizmi’s legacy is presented not merely as a historical milestone, but as a living framework for ethical, inclusive, and human-centered technology. Blending historical insight with practical analysis, the book invites scholars, technologists, and policymakers to approach AI through a culturally grounded, ethically aware lens. It is a timely call to align AI’s future with justice, sustainability, and shared human values—reimagining progress as a continuation of collective wisdom.

“Let’s get lost in a world made of books, coffee and rainy days.”

Books expand our lives in so many ways. They give us adventures, knowledge, opportunities to discover the world, to dive into a new dimension. Millions of people love writing and much more enjoy reading – so why not connecting these two and create something beautiful? This was our question on that rainy autumn night. At that exact moment, we launched our idea of becoming a publisher. Several days later, we opened our company to help aspiring authors realizing their goals. Publishing is now a major industry and we aim to become the largest publisher in the world. We dream big and we inspire our authors to do the same.
