DJ Compass Vrubell DJ Compass Vrubell better known as DJ RX-5 , Alex Compass , Egofriend , Complex_Ruble Alexey Chernorot started his career in electronic music in 1993.

Member of Sergey Kuryohin' POP-MECHANICS band and composer of film soundtracks (ANTIKILLER, DEAD DAUGHTERS). Resident Dj of legendary clubs LSDANCE and PTUCH. Released first russian house mixes (USILOK 1/2). Producer of cult radio show 23rd HOUR WITH COMPASS-VRUBELL on MEGAPOLIS FM 89.5 radio station. During the last 20 years, Compass has been playing actively in clubs and festival across Russia,U

kraine and Baltic countries. He also played many times in the UK, Germany, Austria and other European cities. Compass released his first 12" record on American label SCHMER records in 1997. BUDU KAK BUDDHA was one of the tracks in the official WARP records compilation, which came out in Russia on RMG Records (Russia). Later, with support from Solar X (ART-TEK records), he released his cassette album MANZHEROK. In 1999 the album PECHKI I POCHEN was released on Udmurt label IZHITSA records. Rhodesia's remix of Compass track UNTITLED became part of ANTIKILLER film soundtrack. The same track was remixed by legendary British producer Muslimgauze. His experimental audio/video project Egofriend was presented at MIGZ and TOUR DE TRANS festivals. In December 2016 Nina Kravitz released her mix Fabric 91 on British label FABRIC, featuring track LIKE A BOOGIE by DJ RX-5, which is one of Alexey's side-projects from the 90's. Other artists presented on the compilation mix: Species Of Fishes, Bjarki, Panasonic, New Composers, Woody McBride, Claude Young и AFX.

One of my fondest memories in my long DJ career was in October of 1997 when I had been living in Koln Germany working on a project with Dr Walker / Asbest (Ingmar Koch) of Air Liquide and doing some stuff with Keyboard Magazine in Germany.
We were invited to come to Russia and play at their Olympic Stadium opening for The Orb I was really excited and made the trip from Germany to Moscow with Ingmar and Reinhard Schmitz from keyboard magazine. As an American I was stopped at customs and made to wait several hours while Russian immigration picked through my (at the time) massive passport that had extra pages from my constant traveling that year. The passport was peeling on the edges and they were using a magnifying glass going through the pages for some reason. Russia was vibrant around this time with more freedoms and political change and people were hungry to party like it was 1999. We had a blast there for 2 days playing at the stadium as well as doing a panel discussion at Planet Hollywood and playing a private party for Pl***oy Magazine. All in all Russia remains as one of my all time favorite gigs and now looking back 25 years it seems unreal to me that I did so many cool gigs. Another fun memory was that Ingmar had brought his MPC 3000 and a screw came loose and he spent several hours in the dressing room at the stadium with a flashlight and tools taking apart his MPC to locate the screw while Green Velvet, and Alex Patterson and myself sat and talked before our performance.
