DWELLERS OF THE WATER
Around twenty years ago, a terrifying and tragic event unfolded in Toamasina, the capital of the Betsimisaraka region. I wasn't a direct victim, but I witnessed the events up close, and the echo of what happened has stayed with me to this day. This short story is a testament to the courage of a group of young friends, but it also speaks to a deep-seated belief in the mysteries of the sea, and as such, it forms a small part of our city's history.

M P O N I N ’ N Y R A N O
Tokony ho roapolo taona lasa izay, nisy trangan-javatra nampihoron-koditra sy nampalahelo nitranga tany an-drenivohitr'i Betsimisaraka, tany Toamasina. Tsy anisan’ireo niharam-boina mivantana aho, saingy vavolombelona nanatri-maso akaiky ny zava-nisy, ary mitoetra ao an-tsaiko mandrak’androany ny akon'izany. Itỳ tantara itỳ, izay sady mampiseho ny herim-pon'ny tanora mpinamana no manambara ny finoana lalina momba ireo zava-miafina ao anaty ranomasina, no sady ampahany kely amin'ny tantaran'ny tanànanay.
