✨ My Journey to Islam ✨

In 1996, I met my wife in Turkey, and we married the following year. At that time, neither of us were religious.

About a decade later, my wife began reconnecting with her faith in Islam. Within two years, she realized the importance of marrying within her faith, and she sincerely asked me to learn about Islam. At first, I thought I should convince her to Christianity instead.

Since I was preparing for a military deployment to Qatar, we made a deal: I would read the Qur’an, and she would read the Bible. What happened next changed everything.

The Qur’an struck me with its purity, clarity, and freedom from contradictions. My wife, on the other hand, found the Bible difficult and full of contradictions. I decided to give the Bible another read over six months, but after experiencing the Qur’an, the contrast was undeniable.

I wrestled with this inner struggle for two years. Finally, in 2009, during a Ramadan Iftar in Rapid City, South Dakota, I took my Shahada. Alhamdulillah, since then I’ve been striving to grow as a Muslim—studying Hadith and Sunnah, and even performing Umrah once so far. I can’t wait to return to Makkah again, insha’Allah.

🇵🇸 Tragedy in Gaza: Five Al Jazeera Journalists Killed in Israeli Airstrike Near Al-Shifa Hospital

On August 10, 2025, an Israeli airstrike struck a tent outside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City—where journalists were sheltering—killing five Al Jazeera staff members: correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqeh, along with cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) admitted responsibility, claiming al-Sharif was a Hamas cell leader who facilitated rocket attacks—allegations criticized as unsubstantiated by press freedom organizations.

Al Jazeera condemned the strike as a premeditated assassination aimed at silencing truth-tellers, while UN experts and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) called it a violation of international law protecting media workers.

🆘 Gaza’s Children Are Starving — And The World Cannot Stay Silent 🆘

According to humanitarian reports:

🔴 Nearly 1 in 3 children under age 2 in parts of Gaza are now suffering from acute malnutrition — meaning life-threatening weight loss, weakness, and stunted development.

📉 In June 2025, the number of children screened with acute malnutrition nearly tripled compared to earlier in the year, as aid access collapsed and food, medicine, and clean water became nearly impossible to find.

⚰️ Gaza’s Health Ministry has confirmed over 100 deaths due to starvation, with children making up the majority — a heartbreaking result of months without proper humanitarian access.

🚫 This is not just a humanitarian crisis. It’s a moral failure. Children are not soldiers. Hunger should never be a weapon of war.

📢 The world must act now:
– Open humanitarian corridors
– Allow unrestricted food & medical aid
– Hold those responsible accountable

🇧🇪 BREAKING: Belgian Authorities Interrogate Israeli Soldiers Over Gaza War Crimes Allegations

Two Israeli soldiers were briefly detained and questioned by Belgian federal police after legal complaints accused them of involvement in war crimes committed occurred at the Tomorrowland music festival in Boom, near Antwerp, where the soldiers were reportedly identified by rights groups.

The complaints were filed by the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) and the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN), citing credible evidence of “serious violations of international humanitarian law.” Witnesses reported that a group of young Israeli men were seen waving the flag of the Givati Brigade—an Israeli military unit heavily involved in operations in Gaza.

Belgium’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that police were instructed to locate and interview the individuals named in the complaint. After formal questioning, the soldiers were released. A criminal investigation is now underway.

HRF welcomed the move, calling it a “significant step forward” in the global pursuit of accountability. “At a time when far too many governments remain silent, this action sends a clear message: credible evidence of international crimes must be met with legal response—not political indifference,” the foundation said.

This marks the first time European authorities have formally detained Israeli suspects linked to alleged war crimes in Gaza.

A federal judge blocked on Friday the enforcement of US President Donald Trump's executive order targeting those who work with the International Criminal Court.

The ruling follows an April lawsuit by two human rights advocates challenging Trump's February 6 order authorizing potentially far-reaching economic and travel sanctions on people who work on ICC investigations of US citizens or US allies, such as Israel.
