A 19-year-old Myanmar student is seeking accountability after his brother died in a motorcycle accident near Assumption University. The victim and his cousin were hit when a driver made an illegal U-turn, but crucial CCTV footage and black box data were reportedly unavailable.
Emergency response was delayed, with reports stating that a university ambulance had a flat tire, leaving him critically injured on the road for nearly an hour. When he was finally transported to Ruamchai Pracharug Hospital, medical staff allegedly refused treatment until his passport was presented, further delaying urgent surgery. He later passed away from his injuries.
His family was then required to pay 200,000 baht to retrieve his body. The university provided 20,000 baht in funeral support while reportedly encouraging the family to forgo legal action. Now, they are pursuing legal action against both the driver and the university, citing negligence.
