a temple of light? Is something here that
the universe cannot hold? Or is this a place
where stories are acted out? And don’t try to talk to the owner. He’s asleep. Make perfume of the dust and
thrown-away matters here, where the framing

d the kitchen talk pure praise! Whoever enters this room becomes wise. In 2006 we see Chindwin, a monthly magazine, alternative sort which draws its name from one of three largest rivers of Burmese. Rivers should be venerated, declared the editor. The young and educated Burmese enjoy the editorials which are subversive literary pieces. In Chindwin, there is always a piece of writing on spirituality. In view of the editor socially engaged spirituality is greatly in need to create a peaceful world and to reduce loba, dosa and moha (greed, hatred and illusion). Other pieces are writings on sustainable development, biodiversity, ecology and culture. One or two good poems, as well as an article on poetics, and a short story are usually entertaining. Circulation of the magazine is a thousand. Editors are Ko Tar and Ko Lay Myat.
