Mahar Sarpay was officially founded in 2015 with a vision rooted in the development and flourishing of literature. The guiding principle, or motto, of Mahar Sarpay is to actively engage in literary advancement from every corner and through collaborative efforts. Since its inception, Mahar Sarpay has published approximately 150 books spanning genres such as translations, autobiographies, and both fiction and non-fiction that offer entertainment and knowledge. To date, the publishing house has sold nearly 10 million books in the Myanmar market alone, marking a significant impact on the country's literary scene. Mahar Sarpay has partnered with around 40 distinguished authors to bring a wide range of literary works to the public, with a primary focus on producing high-quality fiction. In the field of translation, Mahar Sarpay has published approximately 50 translated works, two of which were granted official translation rights from the original publishers, ensuring legal and high-quality reproductions of international works for the Myanmar audience. Specifically, the books Miss Burma and All The Light We Cannot See were legally translated and republished after Mahar Sarpay obtained the necessary translation rights from the original rights holders. Although Mahar Sarpay has acquired the official translation rights for several other notable works, the company has not yet been able to publish them due to current circumstances, but they remain committed to doing so in the future when conditions permit. This dedication reflects Mahar Sarpay's continuous effort to contribute to the cultural and intellectual landscape of Myanmar by making globally recognized literature accessible to local readers in a legally compliant and ethically responsible manner.
