FM DX ERA 3 Trito Programma Khania 106.0 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. The evening was quite warm which temperature was around 28 Degrees Celsius and duct tropo was observed towards parts in Eastern Libya, Western Greece and also Crete. What is impressive is that this frequency is caught just next to local Radju Malta 2 which confirms how much the BMW E60 OEM Radio is not that sensitive, much like has TEF6686 standards, despite RDS levels were not reached. It is broadcasting from Crete’s Hania FM Transmitter of around 35 kW in power which is approximately 870 kilometres away towards Khania. 73 😊

FM DX MDR Sachsen Leipzig 93.9 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2025]. A very splendid SpE day as number of catches towards Germany with a hint from France was observed. The place of catch was around Zonqor which temperatures soared around 30 Degrees Celsius. RDS levels were shown by displaying ‘MDR SN L’ which shows a great uniform of from which region it broadcasts around the Leipzig region. The music heard is ‘Say You, Say Me’ by Lionel Richie. It is broadcasting from Germany’s Leipzig FM Transmitter which houses around 100 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,715 kilometres away towards Leipzig. 73 😊

AM DX MW 1197 KHz IRIB Radio Iran Ardabil From Malta. The XHDATA D-808 doing quite an effort despite the transmission is not heard quite clear and well which conditions may have not been adequate at that time. According to MWList, it used to operate as a timeshare slot on the original IRIB Radio Ardabil frequency as it ran from 22:00 AM to 04:14 AM (UTC+2). Nowadays, there is Radio Parsabad Moghan timesharing with IRIB Radio Ardabil between 02:30 AM to 06:30 AM. It is broadcasting from Iran’s Moghan Transmitter that houses around 50 kW in transmission power which is approximately 2,950 kilometres away towards Ardabil. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Flash Siracusa 97.3 MHz From Catania [Local]. Just minutes away towards the Catania’s Market. This was during a one day trip towards Catania, Savoca and Messina. The XHDATA D-808 did quite well and the RDS data shows as ‘R.FLASH’. It used to be broadcasted from Sicily’s Lentini FM Transmitter that houses around 5 kW in transmission power which is approximately 15 kilometres away towards Siracusa.

FM DX RTL 102.5 Piemonte 89.9 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2025]. SpE was quite active towards France, with hints from Poland, Czech Republic and Italy. A very short lasting SpE which the TEF6686 did quite well with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna that its RDS was encoded by showing ‘RTL102.5’ and the PI Code ‘5218’. It is broadcasting from Italy’s Busca FM Transmitter that houses around 40 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,135 kilometres away towards Piemonte. 73 😊

TV DX DVB-T C26 514 MHz MAUT Baleares Mux Mallorca From Malta [August 2024][Tropo]. Being caught almost exactly one year ago plus one day, the day was filled with high duct tropo levels towards the Balearics. It is an impressive distance to reach the island with just using the small 8 Element Antenna around Popeye’s Village. At the time of catch, the package consisted of FibwiTV HD, IB3HD, TV3Cat, SX3/33, 3/24, IB3 RADIO and CAT RADIO. Signal fluctuated so much which was not steady but great to have captured this moment. It is broadcasting from the Balearic Island’s Bunyola TV Transmitter which houses around 14 kW in transmission power that is approximately 1,110 kilometres away towards Mallorca. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Dimensione Suono Calabria 89.0 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. Strong and heavy tropo not just towards the Calabria region but also Puglia up to Albania. The TEF6686 did quite well as this one came from towards the Calabrian region. RDS levels were reached on displaying ‘* RDS *’. PI Code ‘5264’ was shown. IDs being heard at the beginning of the video. It is broadcasting from Italy’s Motta San Giovanni FM Transmitter which houses around 3.2 kW in transmission power that is approximately 260 kilometres away towards Calabria. 73 😊

FM DX ERA 2 Deutero Programma Iraklion 96.4 MHz From Malta [Sproadic-E][2025]. Splendid Sporadic-E openings towards Cyprus, parts of the Middle East and Turkey, with a hint of Crete. The TEF6686 was connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna which the performance was great. RDS levels were reached on displaying ‘ERT – DEFTERO – TEL T 8 – 60L 21O’. The PI Code shows as ‘1202’. It had been present for a number of minutes despite the short recording. This marks that the station is caught both by tropo and Sporadic-E. It is broadcasting from Crete’s Charakas-Akhendrias FM Transmitter which houses around 35 kW in transmission power that is approximately 970 kilometres away towards Iraklion. 73 😊
