Initial intention was to mask the pipe that goes through between the bed and the wall. So, to fulfill these purposes, together with the clients we designed this African walnut shelf. Once the scrapwood draft was finished, the building of the shelf began.

Admiring the fruits of our labour now, the sawdust and the long hours in the workshop fade into oblivion. The long negotiations with the uneven walls do too. I simply sit there rejoicing in the colourful pages of the magazine. Knowing that the clients feel similarly, however, makes my joy double!

When I first walked into this home, I thought that nothing could possibly be added to make it even cosier. The idea to rearrange the home office by building the wooden decorative wall was unexpected. So...my clients and I started generating ideas, which soon lead to many sketches and samples being made.
Although the process was definetely not easy, I must say that in the end it was rewarding for both my clients and myself. Not only does it functionaly separate space, it also contributes to the interior. I do have to say, however, that the biggest compliment for me was when the colleagues of my clients thought that they join online meetings from somewhere in Scandinavia:)
after all, working from home is nice, but it is made much better when a virtual background is replaced by a cosy, aesthetic reality ♡
