Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest is a profoundly emotional and reflective choral work β a prayer not only for the departed, but for us, the living. It traverses sorrow, struggle, longing, and ultimately peace. In its arc, it echoes the rhythm of human life β a search for meaning, rest, and transcendence in a world often marked by chaos and loss.
That this work will unfold on GΔ§ammar Hill is no coincidence. This is sacred ground β a place of pilgrimage, devotion, and quiet ascent. The marble statues of Christβs Passion lining the hill become more than art β they echo the themes of suffering, sacrifice, and redemption embedded in Forrestβs composition.
And just as the amphitheatre opens to the vast Gozo sky, the music lifts its gaze upward β ending not in despair, but in radiance π
