The Republic of Poland has announced the official opening of its Honorary Consulate in Mauritius, marking an important milestone in strengthening diplomatic ties between and .

The appointment of Jacques M.d'Unienville, CEO of Omnicane, as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Mauritius was a key highlight of the evening. Mr. d’Unienville’s extensive business experience and long-standing involvement in the economic landscape of Mauritius are seen as a tremendous asset in promoting Poland’s interests in the region.

The event, held on December 9, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Mauritius Mon Trésor, was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, H.E. Mr. Mirosław Gojdź, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade of Mauritius, Hon. Dhananjay Ramful.

The Government of Mauritius and the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) have formally announced that the 2026 U.S.-Africa Business Summit will take place from July 26-29 in Mauritius.

Hosted for the first time in Mauritius, the Summit is expected to convene over 3,000 high-level U.S. and African government officials, private sector executives, investors, and multilateral stakeholders. The four-day gathering will feature plenaries, high-level dialogues, sector-focused sessions, B2B and 82G engagements, and networking events designed to catalyze new partnerships and deepen commercial ties.

A joint press conference was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CCA in Port Louis to mark the occasion, with the participation of Hon. Dhananjay Ramful, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Hon. Sayed Muhammad Aadil Ameer Meea, Minister of Industry, SME and Cooperatives, H.E. Henry Jardine, U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles, Ms Florie Liser, President and CEO of CCA, and Jean-Raymond Boulle, Vice Chairman of CCA.

The Corporate Council on Africa, in collaboration with the Government of Mauritius, will host the 18th U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Mauritius on July 26-29 2026.

The announcement was made at a high level cocktail gathering hosted by Omnicane Ltd., together with the Jean Boulle Group, at La Maison de Britannia on 1 December in the presence of dignitaries including the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, as Chief Guest, the Deputy Prime Minister Paul Bérenger, U.S. Ambassador H.E. Henry Jardine and Ms Florie Liser, President and CEO of the Corporate Council on Africa, among others.

The Ford GT40 Chassis 1024 landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius on 27 November. Immortalised in the hit movie Le Mans 66 or Ford v Ferrari, the Ford GT40 is one of the most iconic racing cars of all time. This legendary vehicle is set to wow the crowds at the Milestones Motor Museum when it opens its doors to the public in late 2026.

The car will feature prominently alongside other show-stoppers including the McLaren F1, Aston Martin DB5 and the Nissan R32 GT-R ‘Godzilla’, as well as the recently arrived Tucker 48, previously owned by leading Hollywood filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.
