✨Our Story – Alouda Pillay Since 1930 ✨
What started as a simple refreshing drink in Mauritius became a family legacy passed down through generations.
Since 1930, the Pillay family has proudly preserved the authentic tradition of Alouda. Our journey began with our great-grandmother, whose passion and dedication created the foundation of what is today known as Alouda Pillay.
Originally made with water, flavored syrup, and tukmaria (sweet basil) seeds, Alouda evolved over the years with fresh milk, crushed ice, creamy ice cream, and our signature agar-agar foam.
In 2018, Sivananda Katherasa Pillay fulfilled his late father’s dream by introducing bottled Alouda — preserving the authentic taste while sharing this Mauritian tradition with even more people.
More than 95 years later, Alouda Pillay remains a symbol of heritage, tradition, innovation, and family pride.
