1. 50/30/20 Budget Rule
Allocate your income into:
• 50% Needs (Food, Housing, Insurance, Utilities, Transportation)

.
For years, I grappled with the challenges of leadership. Whenever I was thrust into a leadership role—be it coordinating a community project or leading a team at work—I felt overwhelmed and ill-equipped. My attempts often led to confusion, disengagement, and unmet goals. I lacked the tools to inspire, guide, and support others effectively.

One evening, while searching online for resources to improve my leadership skills, I stumbled upon a book titled How to Lead People Through Change by Chris D. Ohlson. The title immediately resonated with me, as I had often found change to be a particularly challenging aspect of leadership. Intrigued, I decided to delve into its contents.

This book became a beacon of clarity in my leadership journey. It offered practical strategies, real-life examples, and actionable tools that transformed my approach to leading.

Lessons gleaned :

1. Embrace the Psychology of Change
Understanding that change evokes emotional responses is crucial. Recognizing and addressing these emotions helps in guiding teams through transitions more empathetically.

2. Adapt Leadership Styles
Flexibility in leadership approaches is essential. Tailoring one's style to meet the needs of the team and the situation fosters a more supportive environment during change.

3. Communicate with Clarity and Empathy
Transparent and compassionate communication builds trust. Keeping lines of communication open ensures that team members feel heard and valued.

4. Utilize Actionable Frameworks
Implementing structured frameworks provides a roadmap for navigating change. These tools help in setting clear goals and measuring progress effectively.

5. Develop Emotional Intelligence
Cultivating self-awareness and empathy enhances a leader's ability to connect with their team. Emotional intelligence is key to managing the human aspects of change.

6. Engage in Self-Reflection
Regular self-assessment allows leaders to identify areas for growth.
