Toni Braxton recently opened up in tears about why her marriage to Birdman ended just two weeks after their wedding. The legendary singer said she didn’t leave for money — she left because she truly believed Birdman was too good for her. “People think I filed for divorce to get $80 million, but that’s not true. I cry when I see that,” Toni said emotionally.
She explained that she and Birdman had been together for 16 years before marrying, sharing a deep bond built on love, loyalty, and friendship. “He’s the most caring man I’ve ever known. When I was sick, he dropped everything to be by my side. He could do anything for me,” she revealed.
Despite his tough image, Toni described Birdman as romantic, traditional, and family-oriented — the kind of man every woman dreams of. But when they finally married, she said something changed inside her. “He didn’t change — my heart did. The love that held us for 16 years just faded.”
Toni says she filed for divorce not out of greed, but to set him free. “I’ll always care for him. He deserves peace and happiness.”
