Kamuzu Barracks FC delivered a commanding performance to beat Blue Eagles 3-0 in a TNM Super League match played at Champions Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with John Francis Mchema netting a brace and assisting another.

The match kicked off at 14:33 with both sides showing high intensity in the opening minutes. However, it was Kamuzu Barracks who looked more composed and purposeful as the half wore on.

Blue Eagles had the first notable chance in the 13th minute when Tonic Viyuyi failed to convert a perfect delivery from Laurent Banda, allowing the KB defence to recover and clear the danger. The Eagles thought they had taken the lead four minutes later through Laurent Banda, but the assistant referee's flag was already up for offside.

Silver Strikers were left to rue missed chances as they played out a goalless draw with Mighty WakaWaka Tigers in a TNM Super League match at Silver Stadium on Saturday August 2.

The result resembled many times in the past as Silver always find it hard to cruise past the KauKau boys.

Mighty Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw by Chitipa United in an action-packed TNM Super League match played at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors took the lead early in the first half through Andrew Joseph who capitalised on a costly back pass from Peter Cholopi to goalkeeper Chancy Mteteh. Joseph calmly slotted the ball home in the 10th minute to stun the home crowd.

With the draw, Wanderers are still topping the log with 34 points from 14 games. The second-placed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have a game in hand to be played today at Champions Stadium against MAFCO FC. Bullets may close the gap just to one point if they capitalise on the game in hand.

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced that Chintheche United and Jenda United failed to travel to their respective match venues due to the ongoing fuel scarcity in the country.

Nkhatabay-based Chintheche United were scheduled to face Chilumba Barracks at Chitipa Stadium, while Mzimba-based Jenda United were set to play Ndirande Stars at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.

However, both teams were unable to reach their destinations and communicated the challenges to FAM, resulting in the rescheduling of both fixtures. The matches have now been shifted to Tuesday, 5th August 2025, with the venues and kick-off times remaining unchanged.

Joseph Kamwendo guided Mchinji Villa to their second win of the season in the NBS Bank National Division League after coming from behind to beat leaders Red Lions in a match played at the Mchinji Community Ground on Saturday afternoon.

The Mchinji-based side had not won a game prior to Kamwendo’s appointment, but after last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Ntaja United, they followed up with a spirited second-half display to overcome a Red Lions side that had gone seven matches unbeaten.
