UNCERTAINTY SURROUNDS KINEO–AIDFIRST FALLOUT

Uncertainty continues to surround the public exchange between artists Kineo Madness and Aidfirst Madness, with fans divided on whether the situation represents a genuine fallout or a calculated marketing strategy.

The two artists, who were previously known as a duo under the same record label, Madness Entertainment recently began pursuing solo careers following an announcement by their management.

Tensions appeared to surface after Kineo addressed long-standing criticism that he is “only a dancer,” pointing out that his debut solo release Uzamafuna has attracted more YouTube views than that of Aidfirst Usamajombe, who is widely regarded by fans as a musical genius.
In what many interpreted as a response, Aidfirst later remarked that it is time for people to separate musicians from comedians — a statement that reignited debate online.

Despite the exchange, questions remain, especially given that both artists are still signed to the same label (Madness Entertainment). This has led some observers to speculate that the situation could be a strategic move to generate attention around their solo transitions rather than a full-blown feud.

For now, whether this is real beef or clever branding remains unclear, but what is certain is that the conversation has placed both artists firmly in the spotlight.

Kunkuyu Faces Police Questioning in Lilongwe

Former Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu is currently being questioned by police at Area 30 Police Headquarters in Lilongwe over remarks he allegedly made during the funeral of late former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Madalitso Kazombo.
Police say the remarks, delivered during a sermon at the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) headquarters, are being treated as incitement or proposals of violence. The matter is also linked to concerns around detention without charge.
Kunkuyu’s lawyer, George Kadzipatike, has confirmed that his client voluntarily presented himself to the police after learning that he was wanted for questioning.
It remains unclear whether Kunkuyu will be formally charged or released following the questioning.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has partially reversed its decision to delay the opening of Term Two for some schools following recent floods.
In a statement released on 4 January 2026, the ministry announced that all public national and district boarding secondary schools will now open on 5 January 2026 as originally scheduled.
The reversal follows an announcement by the Road Authority confirming that a temporary access point at Mpasadzi Bridge on the M1 Road has been opened, improving accessibility to affected areas.
However, the ministry said public schools in Nkhotakota District will remain closed due to ongoing flood-response operations. These schools are now expected to open on 12 January 2026, in line with an earlier directive.
MoEST has assured the public that the decision was made in the interest of safety while ensuring minimal disruption to the academic calendar.

U.S. MILITARY STRIKES IN VENEZUELA

The United States has conducted military strikes inside Venezuela, targeting areas including the capital, Caracas. President Donald Trump claims that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of the country.
Venezuela’s government has condemned the attacks as military aggression, declared a state of emergency, and called for national mobilization. Explosions and infrastructure damage have been reported in Caracas and surrounding areas.

⚠️ Note: While these military actions mark a dramatic escalation, the U.S. has not formally declared war. Under U.S. law, only Congress can declare war, which has not occurred.
