Long post...
PA NKHANI YOYIKA MITENGO PA PUBLIC
Ndawerenga mofatsa post yomwe “Bwana” aja akambako malingana ndizomwe ife tapanga zoyika mitengo ya artist POP YOUNG pa public kuti anthu adziwe how much he is worth and what would cost them to invite him to an event.
“Bwanawo” afotokoza momveka bwino ndithu m’mene iwo akuwonera pa nkhaniyi pogwiritsa ntchito experience ngati munthu oyimba komanso wa business ya Music kuyambira padzana. Tonse timadziwa kuti ndi nkhala kale pa nkhanizi and usually, opinion yawo imapangidwa treat ngati fact and closure, something we, do not have a problem with.
Tamvetsetsa kaganizidwe kawo pa nkhaniyi, koma ife tikunenetsa kuti tapangabe chiganizo chosiyana nawo zochita ndipo we will still stand by that decision. Mitengo isiyeni ikhale/izikhala pa public like that kuti iwo amene akufuna kupanga ma show azidziwa poyambira kukambirana ndi munthu.
“Bwanawo” afotokoza ndithu kuti mtengo sungakhale umodzi malinga mkuti zimapanga determine mitengo ndima zinthu zambiri monga:
(i) distance ya venue from Artist's base;
(ii) nature ya function where show is needed;
(iii) date la show;
(iv) how far is the show kuchokera tsiku la booking;
(v) the duration of the show; and
(vi) the time of the show, among others.
Zosezi tikugwilizana nazo and as much as it remains true, sizikumuletsa munthu kukhala ndi mtengo wake okhazikika. Masiku ano, anthu aluso akamatchaja mtengo amayang’ana kwambiri brand value. Zinazo zimakhala what are called “Add ons.” Ndifukwa chake even ku mpira mumatha kumva kuti Ronaldo kaya Messi amugula pa mtengo wa 3 million plus ma add ons omwe akukwana 1 million.
Chimodzimodzi ku events, zinthu ngati transport, nature of function, date, duration of the show or time etc. Zimenezinso ndima “add ons.” Zilibe fixed value and izizi ndi zomwenso zimabwera pa table after mukamvana mtengo uja, at least za masiku ano, sindikudziwa kalero mwina poti kunalibe kapena tinali achichepele.
I see no valid reason why someone should not publicize their charges, let alone have fixed rates alongside his or her brand. Koma apa pali nkhani yayikulu yomwe anthu akale kalewa ali nayo nkhawa ndipo pamenepo ndipamene ana amasiku ano akuyenera kuchenjera ngati akufuna kudyelera luso lawo.
Kodi mitengo ikamabisidwa, amapindura ndani? Nanga aliyese akaika mtengo wake anthu onse ndikumadziwa kuti ngati wakuti wakuti wapita ku show, mtengo wake ndiwakuti, atafinyike ndani? Izi ndi zina mwa zinthu zomwe tikuyenera kulingalira tisanayambe kulozana zala. Nkhani yagona pamenepa.
Mukawonetsetsa, akulu akuluwa (with no specific individual being targetted) anazolowera malonda a mphaka chifukwa amakhala akupondereza enthu ena makamaka pakalowa Sponsor. Tawonapo ma artists kulandira K200,000 koma budget yomwe inapita kwa sponsor yoti alipidwa mkukhala K2 million. Ma Sponsor alibe idea kweni kweni mitengo yama artists iwo amangoti zabwinobwino akamakamba ndima promoters.
Komanso Kamba kamavuto, ma artist amatha kusayina ndithu kuti apatsidwa K2 million koma atalandira K200,000 uku akuwona ngati achitiridwa favour ndi Bwana. Ali ndi mawu awo omwe amayankhula ma Bwanawo ndipo amawati “exposure.” Akuti amupanga expose artist pa event pawo and many artists ndi akapolo a game chifukwa chopembedsa certain individuals and event organizers.
Look at that artist who broke away from these traditions and started kupanga zinthu pa level yake, kudzipatsa value yake and worked so hard towards what many people called impossible. He is able to make events in Zambia, Mozambique and other countries without having to bend to the rules of the system. He did things differently and he is still enjoying fruits of those decisions he made differently. He keeps on making progress and you will soon be calling him “Wasataniki”.
Komanso tikawunikira, “Bwanawa” event yawo siyipereka mpata kweni kweni yoti mukambirane zama factors enawo ngati mmene akuyankhulira kugulumu. Last time akupanga event ku Mangochi, event yawo inatipeza kuti Pop Young akayimbe ku Mangochi ndipo mtengo anapereka ndi K200,000 and this was more of take it or leave it because they thought it would do us a favour. This has been stated hear just to clear the matter once and for all and not necessarily to, in any way whatsoever, to defame (for lack of a better word) the bwana in question.
Ife tinayesetsa kufotokoza kuti nanga transport zikhala bwanji, sizinawakhudze kweni kweni. They expected the young man ndi DJ wake achoke ku Mzuzu kupita ku Mangochi, akapeze malo ogona ndi chakudya, akayimbe kenako abwelere kwawo zonse pa K200,000.
Pano akuti kumakhala ma factors monga distance what what, pamene iwowo event yawo ikamapereka offer saganizako zonsezi. Respectfully, we turned down the offer (read, the favour) but we realized we had to find a way to communicate our expectations publicly. I am not surprised ali number 1 kukana this change of a system. There will always be that one person and resistance to change is not a strange thing in every aspect of development.
Pano akuyankhula motiphunzitsa kuti Corporate ndi chani. Akuti tikati “Corporate” timanena ma company, ndiye akuti kodi company yayikulu mungayipatse mtengo umodzi ndi yaying’ono? Lero akunena chifukwa akutsutsa zomwe ena akupanga ndipo adziwa tanthawuzo la corporate, yet akamapanga ma event awo amayika sponsorship packages which includes corporate sponsorship. You will usually see a price tag attached to corporate sponsorship, like; “Corporate Sponsorship is K5 million.” Akayika choncho pa event pawo paja akamasaka ma sponsors, tinene amakhala ayiwala kuti ma company ena ndi ang'ono ang'ono sangakwanitse K5 million? Nanga ang'ono ang'onowo akabwera amawabweza basi or amatha kukambirana mkufika mtengo oti aliyese amvomereze? Nanga chingakanikitse artist kukambirana ndi hotel yaying'ono ndi chani?
Pano akutiyankhula mofuna kutichititsa manyazi kuti anawa asalimbe mtima ndikudzipatsa ma value chifukwa they still want to determine pricing ya anawa in the name of exposing them. Kulakwa.
Mmene ife talimba mtima mkutulutsa mitengo publicly, it means artist wina amene ali above Pop Young koma amatchaja modziyang’anira pansi akawona nayenso akweza mtengo ndipo ngati panali wina yemwe akuwona kuti ali close kwa Pop Young alimbanso mtima mkukweza and that is the progress we need for our (because i am confident enough to say that no one owns it) industry to grow right now.
Njira zakalezi zatipititsa pati? When we started in January, I told Pop Young that in the year 2023, he should not expect to make money. I told him it is the year to make content and he needs more of it while practicing to master the stage, handle fame and grow in the business.
Unfortunately, soon after his first release, offers started coming, then we said, let's accept only those with the right money. If he was too quick to accept offers below K500,000, he could have been to over 50 events by now. We have controlled by turning down shows and one of the ways of doing it, we just attached a value to the brand. We have a four-year plan and this is the 6th month of the first year.
Young people amene mukulowa mu industry zindikirani kuti anthu akulu akuluwa anayika ma system omwe amapindululira eni akewo and they will do anything to oppose and fight everyone who seems to be bringing change that benefits the new generation all in the name of "akudziwa zambiri monga mikhala kale." They offer you fish while hiding mbedza kuti musaphunzire kuwedza nokha. Mbedza apatsa ana awo ndipo ulimi wa nsomba aphunzitsa ana awo okha so they can continue to fish for you. They want your income to be that of survival and not an investment.
Unfortunately, we have many young people who see this as the greatest favour, koma ka fame kakamatha, they will move on from you like they did to many who came before you. You are not special, you are just necessary, for now. They do not care for you as long as zawo zikutheka. Awa ndi anthu oti atha kukwera ndege iwe mkukukweza Bus (randomly used as an example) and still make you believe kuti they have done you a favour.
If you want change, fight for it and do not be afraid by manipulators who feel like they control the game. No one owns the industry (deliberately repeated) it is for everyone to tap into. If you continue to hide your value, they will continue to own it for you. When you see them fighting people like me, trying to make me look like I don't know what I am doing, just know, it is you they are fighting because I am directly working with you and help improve the standards of the industry. At the end of the day, their huge fan base will rally behind them and make their position sound like a legitimate one. It is not.
Respectfully.
