AGAINST HOPE, IN HOPE HE BELIEVED
Rom.4.18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. (KJV)
Beloved, the key lesson we get from this scripture is that there are times when all hope goes away, all prospects seem a dream far from being accomplished. Debts that scare you when you look at how to repay them, having a heart to payback but having no way out. A marriage that ended way back but just living together due to other reasons other than love and companionship, each one doing their own thing. A job where you're never appreciated no matter how hard you may work. Being intelligent enough yet in the thick dark thorny future when it comes to the issue of fees. Then you ask yourself, what is really wrong with me? Where did I make a mistake in my decision?
Beloved, this was the kind of situation Abraham was in, there was no hope of him fathering many nations. However, because that is what God had told him, he believed the Mater's word and it surely came to pass, though after some years.
We might be in a similar situation presently, the pressure being too much on us, stress overload, but one thing we should do: AGAINST HOPE, IN HOPE LET US BELIEVE!
