THE VP TO FACE ACB

This morning the State Vice President Rt Hon Saulos Klaus Chilima is expected to visit ACB offices in Lilongwe and have interviews on matters of national interest

There is high military and police presence at the ACB offices in Lilongwe this morning ahead of ACB summoning of Vice President Saulos Chilima.

Soldiers and police officers have blocked all roads leading to the ACB offices from about a distance of 100 metres.

All people working in offices near ACB are being told to go back.

NOCMA NEW CEO

NocMA has appointed Mr Micklas Reuben as the Acting Executive Officer for their organisation with effect 15th November 2022.

His appointed comes after Helen Buluma was thrown off from NOcMA. Mr Reuben happened to be Director of Operations at National Oil Company of Malawi Limited prior to his appointment.

*Police arrest 5 students for torching school cafeteria*

Police in Ntcheu have on Wednesday, November 14, 2022 arrested five Ntcheu Secondary School students for allegedly setting ablaze the school cafeteria.

The incident occurred during the night of Monday, November 14, 2022 at around 23:00hrs.

It is alleged that during this particular night, a 19 year-old form four student, Frank Chumbi and his accomplices who are minors, mobilised themselves and torched the cafe following the expulsion of their fellow student from the school.

It is further alleged that the students used sanitizer to facilitate the combustion, leading to the burning of the cafe that contained assorted items including old mattresses.

The matter was reported to Police and through intelligence collection, the five have been arrested and confessed to have conducted the offence.

Frank Chumbi and his colleagues will appear in court soon to answer a charge of Arson which contravenes section 337 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Police in the district bemoans the conduct of vandalising school property. Whenever a misunderstanding arises, students should follow proper procedure and seek advice and clarification from relevant authorities instead of resorting to vandalism since it hinders development.

ILLOVO SUGAR LAUNCHES ITS 90 GRAM SACHET

BREAKING: NOCMA DEPUTY CEO THROWS IN TOWEL

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) has resigned.

Confirmed reports indicate that Buluma resigned after NOCMA Board suggested that she follows proper procurement procedures to incorporate more players in the fuel supply chain to quickly ease the fuel situation in the country.

An inside source says Buluma had a meeting with the Board’s Chairperson on Monday this week on the same issue, two days before she tendered her resignation backdated to 14 November 2022.

The Board Chairperson for NOCMA, Collen Zamba, confirmed both the meeting and Buluma's resignation.
