COSOMA SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT
COSOMA needs to be transparent and accountable in how they decide who gets registered and how royalties are disbursed.
Maybe I’m being delusional, but I strongly believe that all the Mgandapiano songs that have been and still are massive hits on local dancefloors have generated substantial royalties.
I registered my songs and still have the payment and registration documents with COSOMA, only to be told that my information is not in their system.
It’s a real letdown to see your work being used everyday at almost every wedding, social gathering, open air events, sporting activities, and even political rallies in Malawi, yet the creator earns nothing, despite holding intellectual property rights.
It’s high time those responsible for overseeing this system are held accountable.
