SPECIAL CHIAVIEW CLUSTER CAMP MEETING POSTPONED TO 2027
The Central Malawi Conference (CMC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has announced the postponement of the Special Chiaview Cluster Camp Meeting, which was scheduled to take place from 25 to 29 August 2026 at the Chiaview Mission, Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa District.
The announcement follows a decision by the CMC ADCOM, which met on 14 August 2026.
According to the statement issued by the Conference Executive Secretary, Pastor Paul Kamgoma, the camp meeting has been postponed to 2027 due to unforeseen logistical challenges and circumstances beyond its control.
The Conference has expressed its sincere apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the change, noting that the decision was not made lightly but was taken prayerfully in the interest of ensuring that the camp meeting will be a meaningful blessing and fitting occasion for the Lord.
Importantly, all registrations already submitted will remain valid for the 2027 camp meeting, meaning participants will not be required to register again but will only need to confirm their participation when preparations for the rescheduled meeting begin.
The Conference has also confirmed that all contributions already made will be credited toward the 2027 camp meeting. In the meantime, the funds will be used to prepare some essential projects for the future gathering.
Church members will receive regular updates through their district pastors regarding the new dates and other preparations.
Although the camp meeting will not take place as planned this August, the Conference has encouraged members to continue praying, studying God's Word, and preparing their hearts for what it describes as a great spiritual revival in 2027.
Quoting Proverbs 3:5–6, the Conference urged members to continue trusting in the Lord:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
The CMC has appealed for continued understanding and prayers as arrangements are made for the rescheduled camp meeting.
