A VISIT TO M'NGWANGWA YOUTH CLUB.
Maluso ndi Chilengedwe, a conservation arts initiative in collaboration with Timveni Online is making strides in promoting environmental sustainability among the youth. Recently, our team had the opportunity to visit the Mngwangwa Youth Club in Lilongwe, T/A Kabudula, where we witnessed firsthand the club's impactful efforts in empowering young individuals to engage in sustainable practices. Under the leadership of coordinator Yobu Chikanda, the Mngwangwa Youth Club is actively involved in a range of initiatives aimed at restoring the environment. One of their key projects focuses on reforestation, addressing the urgent need to replenish trees that have been lost due to charcoal production and firewood harvesting. Additionally, the club advocates for the use of organic manure instead of chemical fertilizers, promoting soil health and long-term agricultural sustainability. These efforts align closely with the objectives of Maluso ndi Chilengedwe, which seeks to foster environmental stewardship among the youth. The commitment of the Mngwangwa Youth Club to conservation is commendable and serves as an inspiring model for other communities. Together, we can make a significant impact in protecting our planet for future generations.

The Alimi Acheze innovation with Muuni Fund Malawi facilitates capacity strengthening for smallholder farmers and allows easy monitoring and evaluation of climate resilience indicators. More importantly, it helps in the effective delivery of agricultural extension services.
