"No minerals will leave Botswana unprocessed" - Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko
Botswana's President Duma Gideon Boko, has officially declared that under his administration, no minerals will be exported from Botswana without undergoing local processing.
He also mentioned that diamonds will be cut and polished domestically, and copper concentrates will undergo local value addition before export.
āNo diamond will leave this country raw, all will be cut and polished here. No copper concentrate will be exported without local value addition,ā he said.
Botswana is the largest diamond exporter in Afrika and the sixth in the world.
