Join us in celebrating the birthday of Tapiwa Sanga. Tapiwa is a student at the University of Malawi and she joined the GrandPen Africa team as an Assistant Editor this year.

Among other things, she is a Millennium Fellowship alumnus. She is also a passionate advocate for UN SDG4, which is education for all. Tapiwa promotes inclusive education through leadership roles, including Gender Attaché in the Student Representative Council at UNIMA and she is a youth leader with Action Aid Hub Malawi.

Notably, the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ occurred on a sunny day, ensuring that the cross remains a beacon of life.

Apart from being a prolific writer, Dhumie Jere is also an entrepreneur and a passionate wordsmith. He firmly believes that writing is an integral part of his divine assignment, through which God has entrusted him with the task of conveying the message of His kingdom to humanity.

We are delighted to congratulate Constance (Connie) Chitembeya, a talented 21-year-old writer, on the publication of her first book, "The Art of Unconsciousness", released in collaboration with GrandPen Africa.

As a medical student, Connie is a strong advocate for the importance of a free mind, which she believes is essential to true freedom, allowing individuals to think, choose, and act without constraints.

According to Connie, embracing one's free will involves following one's own path, making choices that bring joy and meaning, while also acknowledging the responsibility to respect the freedom of others. This fundamental principle guides Connie's journey and invites others to live with kindness, respect, and courage. "The Art of Unconsciousness" is a deeply personal and reflective account of Connie's journey, shared in her own words.

Congratulations are in order for Malawi College of Health Sciences graduate, Precious Gallion, on getting published through GrandPen Africa. Born in 2002, Precious is a poet, author, and Registered Nurse residing in Ndirande, Blantyre. He is a distinguished member of the Malawi Writers Union. Precious began writing poetry at a young age and nurtured his passion for poetry and storytelling. Influenced by diverse cultural exposure to both fiction and personal narratives, he explores themes of health struggles, self-discovery, healing, and triumph.

This book tells the inspiring true story of Dube, a young boy from a marginalized tribe in Malawi who dared to challenge the status quo. During Prime Minister Gondo's governance, Dube's community faced entrenched ethnic discrimination, injustice, and inequality. However, Dube's remarkable journey illustrates how one person can rise above adversity, unite divided communities, and drive transformative change.

Inspiration Hub For Writers (IHFOW) is an online intercollegiate project run by GrandPen Africa, with the goal of creating a nurturing space for university students across Africa who are passionate about writing and interested in getting published.

𝐎𝐁𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒

The key objectives of this project are:

1. To assist a minimum of 10 university/college students in getting published every six months.

2. To offer practical guidance and mentorship to aspiring writers.

3. To promote constructive criticism for emerging authors.

4. To establish a community of skilled writers through professional development.

𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐓𝐒

The following are some of the benefits of this project to writers:

1. Getting published and recognized globally

2. Being mentored weekly for a six-month period

3. Completing a Creative Writing Course

4. Receiving a Professional Certificate in Creative Writing
