Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., is a renowned American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on September 27, 1982, he rose to fame at a young age and has since become one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation.

Early Life and Career

Lil Wayne's early life was marked by hardship and struggle. His parents divorced when he was just two years old, and his father abandoned the family. He was raised by his mother, a cook, in the impoverished Hollygrove neighborhood of Uptown New Orleans. Despite these challenges, Lil Wayne found solace in music, writing his first rap song at the age of eight.

He was discovered by Bryan "Birdman" Williams, the co-founder of Cash Money Records, in 1991. Birdman mentored Lil Wayne and encouraged his love of hip-hop. By the age of 12, Lil Wayne was already recording tracks with Cash Money Records.

Rise to Fame

Lil Wayne's debut album, "Tha Block Is Hot," was released in 1999 and quickly achieved commercial success. He went on to release several successful albums, including "Lights Out" (2000), "500 Degreez" (2002), and "Tha Carter" (2004).

In 2005, Lil Wayne released "Tha Carter II," which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. He continued to release hit albums, including "Tha Carter III" (2008), "Rebirth" (2010), and "Tha Carter IV" (2011).
