Verdict !

The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has taken disciplinary action following disturbances during the TNM Super League clash between Chitipa United FC and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

Chitipa United Head Coach Kondwa Ikwanga has been handed a three match touchline ban, while the club has been fined MK6,000,000.00. The fine must be paid before their next official match or the club will face a points deduction.

SULOM has urged clubs to educate their players, staff, and fans on maintaining order, emphasizing that future acts of violence or disorder will be met with firm action.

In response, Chitipa United FC General Secretary Watson Kabaghe said:

“We have seen and taken note of the judgment issued by SULOM. As a club, we will be consulting with our legal team before providing a comprehensive response.”

Chioma Okafor Chooses Nigeria Over Malawi

Talented striker Chioma Okafor, who was born in Malawi to a Malawian mother and Nigerian father, has officially chosen to represent Nigeria at international level.

The USA based forward, currently playing for the University of Connecticut, had been on the radar for Malawi’s Scorchers and was called up for the February friendlies against Zambia.

However, she was unable to join the squad due to academic commitments.

Following engagement with her family, the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) confirmed that Okafor has made a firm decision to commit her international career to Nigeria.

This was also formally communicated by the Nigeria Football Federation.
