EXTENSION OF APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR IPTE 20 INTAKE

The Ministry of Higher Education announces that the closing date for receiving applications for the IPTE 20 intake has been extended from 12 August,2025, to 30 August 30, 2025.

This extension aims to provide additional time for applicants who are experiencing challenges with the online application process.

To further support prospective students, the Ministry has appointed teacher agents in four zones of each education district across the country.

These agents will offer assistance to those in need, and their contact details and locations will be shared through social media in due course.

EGYAID SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES 2025/2026

The Government of the Republic of Malawi has received offers of 100% undergraduate scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year from the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt for Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees at Egyptian universities.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Be a Malawian citizen with at least six credits, including English, at MSCE or its equivalent.
- Be below 19 years of age.
- Present a copy of the Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent.
- Be willing to pay a $100 registration fee for reviewing application documents by EGYAID.
- Not already studying at any Egyptian university.
- Be aware that scholarship application is not complete until security clearance is granted.
- Be aware that scholarship application only applies to regular departments.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

- Identify courses and register on the application portal.
- Apply through the following link:
- Submit a convincing personal statement.
- Provide two letters of recommendation with contact details (phone and email).
- Submit a detailed, up-to-date curriculum vitae.
- Be willing to avail yourself for a personal online interview.

MEET PATIENCE TAMBALA: A GIRL WHO REFUSED TO GIVE UP

Meet Patience Tambala, a young woman who overcame incredible challenges. She was expelled from school for teasing a fellow student, but didn't give up. Things got tougher when she was accused of satanism, but she persevered And chance encounter led to a second chance at education.

Patience worked hard and excelled in her studies. With support from a compassionate teacher, she passed her MSCE exams and went on to study Metallurgy and Material Engineering.

Today, Patience is a successful engineer. Her story is an inspiration to anyone facing challenges and uncertainty.

SAD NEWS: MZUZU UNIVERSITY FIRST-YEAR STUDENT DIES

Mzuzu University mourns the passing of 20-year-old Mercy Luhanga, a first-year student in the Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Management program. She died on 2 August , 2025, after seeking medical attention for a condition related to low blood levels.

The remains are at Mzuzu Central Hospital Mortuary, awaiting transportation home. The funeral program will be announced soon. Her passing has shocked many on campus.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM MEC

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has become aware of content circulating on social media, allegedly representing test questions for Presiding Officer recruitment.

MEC confirms the recruitment process has begun, but categorically asserts that the circulating content is NOT the actual examination paper.

MEC assures candidates and the public that the integrity of the recruitment process remains secure and credible, with strict security protocols in place. The Commission emphasizes that the recruitment will be conducted in a fair, merit-based, and credible manner, free from undue influence or malpractice.
