What is a Poem?
A poem is a glimpse of a poet’s mind,
where its voice echoes the soul,
with thoughts entwined
and feelings in tow.
Its magic is spun from ink and pen, `
a window to a world agleam,
where feelings and thoughts blend,
in verses woven like a dream.
It’s like a river flowing free.
in sonnets, haiku, or free verse,
a gray glint of an inner sea,
where emotions ripple and traverse.
A poem can heal or reveal,
a verse carrying truths untold,
the depths of joy or pain we feel
for the mysteries of the soul.
In metaphors, it hides its truth.
Its colors are painted with sound.
Connecting lines like a sleuth,
a slate of imageries abounds.
It’s a roar of a silent scream,
or hearing a siren’s haunting call,
fleeting in a nightmare dream,
of omens that might befall.
It’s a serenade to the moonlit night,
a love’s secret in the wind.
Children’s laughter so pure and bright,
leaving readers with a smile within.
It’s more than words spoken,
a precious gift that poets share,
a palette painted with emotions,
with their hearts and souls bared.
