Bought this Old Cast Iron Wood burnin stove off of Marketplace for $75. Sanded all the rust off, rubbed it down with alcohol & sprayed 3 cans of high heat ceramic paint on it. Turned out Great & looks like New!!! 🇺🇸

Used my new 6 quart lodge to make beef stew last night.Always tasted better from the fire pit.

This is cubes of raw smoked fat. I don't know if other people do this. I don't use fat from seed oils or buy lards ever....

This is cubes of raw smoked fat. I don't know if other people do this. I don't use fat from seed oils or buy lards ever.
I learned to cook on cast iron after I left the military and worked for a hunting outfitter company for six months. We used cubed fat to judge our pan temperatures on open fires.
I freeze it individually on trays so it doesn't clump into a 5 pounds frozen fat ball. Once frozen I store it in a freezer bag in the freezer for instant use a couple pieces at a time. I butcher a dozen or so hogs a year and I save the back, side, and leaf fat for just this purpose.
This fat is from a razor-back boar. It is awesome beyond any domestic hog. It adds a smoke flavor to eggs, french toast, pancakes, hash brown potatoes, or anything you cook.
