500 kilos of pure panic trapped in the ice.
One wrong step and the ice gave way. The horse fell into the icy water and, with each attempt to get out, grew more exhausted. The cold was paralyzing its muscles. Only its head remained above water, and terror filled its eyes.
It wasn't the work of one person, but of the entire village. With ropes, tractors, and a great deal of human strength, they accomplished the impossible before hypothermia could claim the horse.
That night, it slept under three thermal blankets with a full stomach. The strength of the community saved a life.
