🎉 HISTORY MADE: JOÃO MARINHO NETO ENTERS THE TOP 10 OLDEST MEN EVER! 🇧🇷

LongeviQuest is delighted to celebrate another extraordinary milestone for João Marinho Neto, the world’s oldest living man.

Yesterday, João surpassed the final age of Israel Kristal (1903–2017), who lived to 113 years and 330 days, moving João into the top 10 oldest validated men in recorded history.

Born on 5 October 1912 in Maranguape, Ceará, João grew up in a farming family and spent much of his life working the land and raising livestock. Today, he resides in Apuiarés, Ceará, surrounded by a large family spanning multiple generations. When asked about his longevity, João has credited being surrounded by good people, avoiding too much solitude, and keeping his children close.

João has held the title of world’s oldest living man since 25 November 2024, and his remarkable journey continues to make longevity history.

Congratulations, Seu João, on this exceptional achievement! 💙🇧🇷

🇯🇵 Shigeko Kagawa, Japan’s oldest living person, has passed away at the age of 115.

Mrs. Kagawa died peacefully at her home in Yamatokōriyama, Nara Prefecture, on August 27, 2026, at the age of 115 years and 91 days.

Born on May 28, 1911, Kagawa devoted much of her remarkable life to medicine. An obstetrician and gynecologist, she took over her family’s clinic and continued caring for patients until retiring at the extraordinary age of 86.

In 2021, at age 109, she gained international recognition when she participated in the Tokyo Olympic torch relay, becoming the oldest Olympic torchbearer in history. 🏅

Even at 113, Kagawa demonstrated remarkable resilience, successfully undergoing hip surgery following a fracture. She celebrated her 115th birthday this past May.

LongeviQuest extends our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Kagawa’s family and loved ones. We honor her extraordinary 115 years of life and the many decades she devoted to caring for others.

Rest in peace, Shigeko Kagawa (1911–2026). 🕊️
