Here is the Inside Scoop on Health Care of Mexico!

The new biometric CURP, established in the General Population Law, was approved by the Chamber of Deputies and contemplates the incorporation of sensitive personal data such as fingerprints, facial recognition and other unique biometric data. The opinion has already been sent to the Federal Executive for publication in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF).

✅ What Happened?
The Chamber of Deputies in Mexico approved reforms to the General Population Law to create a biometric CURP (Unique Population Registry Code).

✅ Key Points:
• The new CURP will include sensitive personal data, such as:
• Fingerprints
• Facial recognition data
• Other unique biometric identifiers
• The reform aims to make identification more secure and prevent identity theft.

✅ Next Step:
The proposal has been sent to the Federal Executive (Presidency) to be published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF). Once published, it will officially become law and implementation will begin.

✅ Implications:
• Every citizen and resident will eventually be required to provide their biometric data.
• The government will maintain a centralized biometric database.
