Roca Blanca Spanish School

Roca Blanca Spanish School We are an intensive missionary language school and Spanish curriculum that emphasizes excellence and immersion into a Hispanic culture. WHO WE ARE?

First of all you'll want to know that a recent US State Department official evaluated the Roca Blanca Spanish Language School to be in the safest and most secure area in Mexico, well and easily patrolled, virtually free from the drug and other violence issues that are plaguing Mexico's border towns and some large cities. This is further confirmed by the most recent US State department bulletins. C

lick on the "About Safety" tab above or to the right for more detailed information. Both are necessary if you're going to communicate like you really hope to, and be effective over the long term! The school is open to adults of any age and any Spanish speaking level, and often to older children of adult students. A half-hour drive from Puerto Escondido in historic Oaxaca Cacalotepec, the fishing village where Roca Blanca is located, is approximately one-half hour from Puerto Escondido, the best surfing beach in Mexico. Of course our students can also enjoy the beach just 100 yards from the base, along with the tropical climate year round. In our state of Oaxaca, which has the largest number of unreached people groups in the Western Hemisphere (16 major language groups, and 155 dialects), there are needy coastal towns and rustic mountain villages, providing ample opportunity for ministry experience and other-culture interaction.

Happy Saturday everyone! We’ve got something exciting in the works for the future of the Spanish school. 🤩 We can’t wait to share more details, so stay tuned!

A couple of weeks ago the Spanish school teamed up with Corban clinic's staff, as well as medical interns from Oral Roberts University, to serve the Mixteco village of Yutatuyá. Students and teachers shared the Gospel with the kids who came, as well as playing games and doing crafts. It was a highly anticipated event in the village, as we received reports that the village actually cancelled school that day so that the kids could attend the program they put on!

Experiencing culture is a vital aspect of the journey towards becoming a missionary. 1-2 day missions trips into Oaxacan villages are just one of the important cultural experiences the Spanish School provides to its students, along with "culture days" and a variety of field trips to learn the history of Mexico and its indigenous people, and their way of life.

If you are missions-minded with a heart for Latin America, we'd love to connect with you and be a part of your missionary journey!

Happy Tuesday friends! Today we are featuring twin brothers Isaiah and Isaac from Dallas Texas!

Q: Where are you from?
A: We are from DFW metroplex in Texas.

Q: Why did you want to learn Spanish?
A: We think it will help us in our future jobs.

Q: How did you hear about Roca Blanca?
A: We learned about this place from our church and our mom.

Q: What are your plans after Spanish School?
A: (Isaac) I'm still figuring it out and I'm hoping to have an answer from the Lord during my time here. (Isaiah) I am hoping to do military work after my time here.

Q: What has been the best part of your experience?
A: We can't decide on just one but we enjoy the lessons at our school and hope to have many more great memories of this place.

Q: What advice would you give to any new or prospective students?
A: Have an open mind and prepare yourself for a new environment (in a good way!)

Q: Why did you want to learn Spanish?
K: I want to learn Spanish because I feel God is calling me to be a full time missionary at an Orphanage in Puebla, Mexico.

Q: How did you hear about Roca Blanca Spanish School?
K: I heard about Roca Blanca from other missionaries in Puebla.

Q: What are your plans after Spanish School?
K: After I complete level 4 I plan on going to a Bible Institute in Puebla Mexico at the Orphanage to become a full time dorm supervisor for an age group of girls!

Q: What has been the best part about your experience here?
K: The best part so far has been the amazing teachers, they are so genuine and kind. If I am ever struggling on a topic they are always there to take time to explain it!
