Sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what you need! 🏝

I’ve known for a few years that I wasn’t happy in my life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Something was missing, and I began searching for what that may be. I began making plans to move, and I needed my move to have meaning and to be exactly what would quench some thirst I just couldn’t quench there. And it needed to be affordable, as 14 hour work days needed to be a thing of the past, so life had to slow down. One week ago today, after almost a year of planning, I came to my new home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. During a pandemic I packed up and drove for three days with my pup and my cats to start anew. I wake up every morning to ocean views and the sound of water cresting on the rocks below. I sit on my terrace each evening and see the most magnificent shades of pinks and purples and reds and oranges and yellows as the sun sets above the water. I work for a global company online during my days and also now have time to begin writing that book I’ve had within me for far too long with no voice. It’s amazing how many years someone can frantically search for something as simple as peace, and equally as amazing how quickly it envelops you when you find it.

Week 2: Found a permanent place to rent (move in 2 weeks!), attended a Rotary event, played our 1st bingo night, met new friends, and ate ALL the good food.
