10 Years 🎉 We just got back from a week in Barcelona—just the two of us. No kids, no schedules, just us. We tapas’d our way through ramblas & neighborhoods, rode e-bikes for miles along the Mediterranean, danced salsa on a rooftop at sunset, learned to make paella and sangria, wandered through the awe of La Sagrada Familia, and laughed like we were 24 and falling in love all over again. Sounds cheesy, but it was absolute perfection!

It was the perfect way to celebrate what this year means to us: 10 years of marriage.

Ten years of promises, pivots, and possibilities. Ten years of raising babies, building dreams, stepping out of our comfort zone, and choosing each other—over and over again. Here’s to 50 more

We’ve spent 3 years working while wandering with our wildlings. And we began this journey long before 2020 changed the world. Advocates for forging our path and building a life of flexibility, we are believes that a life worthwhile is lived on our own terms. Our motto? Don’t call it a dream, call it a plan. Because if you plan it right, you won’t have to dream anymore.

🎂 Our last baby is turning 2 and while I’m stoked, I am equally sad to close this chapter of parenthood. We are so excited for the next phase, less diapers & baby gear, more freedom, new milestone… but I am still grieving that yesterday was the last time putting down our baby for a nap. Regardless, to know this boy is to love him. He’s hilarious and sweet, loves to copy his sisters & watch Bluey. He’s crazy tall and has a killer arm! He’s more adventurous than our two girls combined, which means we’re in for it as he gets older. 😂 Happy birthday little boy. We love you so so much.

If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know that we spend a lot of time exploring off-the-beaten-path locations with our kids in tow. We love summers in small European villages and overlanding dirt roads in the American West. But this summer, we changed it up a bit.⁣
⁣
Sometimes we full-time, sometimes we homestead, sometimes we public school, sometimes we worldschool.⁣
⁣
We planned a summer abroad… But the funny thing about creating a life of flexibility is that you truly get to LEAN into what is right for your family at that moment. And right now we’re LEANING into life in Asheville… turning this house into a home with a large garden full of heirlooms and lush flowers, and kids who hunt for fireflies & honeysuckle daily.⁣

We have some fun summer travel coming up but for now, we are LEANING into the pace of this mountain community. We’re excited for what’s to come, but for now, we lean. 🌿🏡✨⁣

Our absolute favorite thing about the holidays is the food that brings everyone to the table, even baby! Convenient, stress-free entrées, like **er Mealtime for Toddlers, offer wholesome nutrition with none of the hassle. Snacks keep kids happy on vacation! Here are our best tips for keeping babies fueled on vacation: ⁣

• Prep before your trip. It’s always easier to find your favorite snacks at the grocery store rather than trying to find them on vacation.⁣
• Let your kids pick out one ”fun” on-the-go snack each. ⁣
• Don’t skip out on packing snacks while flying! As long as your food isn’t liquid, you’re good with TSA. ⁣
• Pack snacks in a bowl, lunch box, or reusable bag that’s easy to get to. ⁣
• Opt for snacks that they can pick up and eat themselves!⁣

🍁When the world feels heavy, we tend to lean into our kids. They show us that people are mostly good.🍁

We’ve been quiet lately because TBH we’ve lacked the energy for this space. It’s been a rollercoaster of a month between 3 birthdays & Halloween, an 8 day trip to Florida, and the passing of our close friend alongside his funeral. We’ve also been dealing with illness after illness (our family finally got HFM for the first time 😣- IYKYK).

We are also *finally* leaning into our life in Asheville, after being gone so much this year. AVL is genuinely a gorgeous place to live, with endless activities and places to explore, especially in the fall!

So that’s our life update. We are back to share with you more of our adventures from the year, our little life in Asheville, mixed with some parenting humor and musings.
