Update on my 40-gallon office aquarium 🐠🌿
It’s been a month and a half since I planted it, and exactly one month since I started using Neo CO2 injection.
The algae is slowly fading, the fish are still thriving, and the tank is starting to settle.
It still feels a bit empty to me — I usually prefer a denser, more heavily planted look. I’ll be adding more plant species in the coming weeks.

One of the most recent tanks I’ve set up.
This aquarium is home to a small group of Trigonostigma espei swimming peacefully above the hardscape, while Cherry Shrimp wander through the plants below.

Not sure if the layout leans more towards a stream or lake, but the balance between fish and shrimp has worked beautifully.
The Espei have been respectful of the Neocaridina colony, allowing it to thrive without stress.

Some of the plants you can spot here include Cryptocoryne, Hydrocotyle, Ludwigia repens, and a few aquatic ferns. I’d love to add some Bucephalandra one day, but for now… my wallet says no 😅

Have you tried mixing shrimp with schooling fish? Let me know which combos worked for you!

The last remaining Silvertip Tetra in this tank.

I originally had 6, but had to remove the 3 males because they started bullying the other fish. I was left with three females, but couldn’t catch them due to the hardscape and how fast they swim.

Now this little one lives peacefully with 6 Glowlight Tetras and a Guppy 🐟✨

I planted this tank 3 weeks ago and the plants are growing in nicely 🌱
I added a few more last week, but there’s still a lot of space with potential.
The fish seem happy with the aquascape so far!
Let’s see how it looks in another month once everything starts filling in 💚
