The federal government’s Plan Michoacán is already showing impressive results: homicides in the state have dropped nearly 50% in November compared to previous months. Over 10,500 federal troops are now deployed, along with helicopters, drones, and military vehicles. Since the plan began, authorities have arrested 135 suspects, including a cartel leader linked to the assassination of Uruapan’s mayor.
The crackdown also seized weapons, drugs, and explosive devices. Michoacán is on a path toward peace with strong commitment and action.
