Pride in Ageing turns SIX today! 🥳 Here are some of our incredible Pride in Ageing volunteers celebrating their impact at last night’s Volunteer Awards with our host and 50th Anniversary ambassador, 💛
Our Pride in Ageing programme has been championing the over 50 LGBTQ+ community since 2019. Launched by our patron Sir , we provide social, volunteering and advisory opportunities for older LGBTQ+ people, from looking after the Derek Jarman Pocket Park at to advising on the UK’s first LGBTQ+ Extra Care Scheme in Whalley Range
The programme has proven so successful, this year we expanded to Liverpool and Merseyside, bringing the joy of LGBTQ+ ageing to even more people in the North West.
We continue to be inspired by how this generation and community have contributed to LGBTQ+ rights and liberation over their lifetimes, so we’ll be sharing some of these conversations facilitated by Dita over the next week and how you can support this vital work.
