For a few days across late July and early August Ceuta dominated the news worldwide.

Less than a month later their football team AD CEUTA FC took to the field for their first home game since over 70,000 stormed the border.

The world has moved on but Ceuta hasn't and the football team is doing everything it can to ensure the city isn't forgotten.

I have just finished reading the brilliant new book by Tim Rich on Terry Venables and here is my honest review.

An excellent spotlight on the life of Terry Venables and his rich life. From Chelsea to Barcelona and everything in between the book gives you a fascinating insight into a coach who was clearly a complex character.

While he had many highs as a coach Venables often had many lows off the field that impacted his coaching opportunities.

After the game yesterday I spoke to Thiago Pitarch about his season one where he went from playing in Primera Federacion to the Champions League quarter finals and now looking ahead to a final for Spain at U19 level.

He felt more comfortable speaking in Spanish so here's a translation of his answer

"I feel very happy. At the end of the day, I'm doing what I love most, which is playing football. So, I'm very happy. We are already in the final. Now we only have one match left to win the tournament, and we're going to go out there and give it our all."

One more season to get yourself to one of Spain's most iconic grounds

📍Estadio Mestalla - Valencia CF

The club are moving to the Nou Mestalla project that was started over 20 years ago and paused due to costs until recently.

The move will enable Valencia to become a World Cup host venue in 2030 but will see us lose a ground that is unique in Europe due to its steepness.

A tough game for Spain and one that had a real lack of fluidity with Uruguay breaking up the game and digging in.

Rodri for me has been a big worry and could be exposed against better teams as Spain progress into the tournament.

Happy for Alex Baena though who had plenty of question marks around him from some.

He had a tough first season at Atleti suffering niggly injuries and adjusting to what Simeone expects of him but there's a really good player there and he's shown it for Spain in these last two games.
