September made me realize, life doesn’t just “happen,” it speaks!!
Through the earth, the animals, the accidents, the people who cross my path… they’re all part of my medicine. I live in myth, ceremony, and synchronicity, ALWAYS, whether I intend to or not.
This month pulled me back unexpectedly to Canada, where I joined a spiritual mission: protecting what is ancient, sacred, and nearly lost. Our wild buffalo in Saskatchewan.
But while I was there, something happened that could have ended my life..
That morning, something inside whispered to me: pray. I listened. And I am so glad I did🙏🏾.
Because later that day, while buffalo hazing, my horse Bri got spooked and took off, FULL gallop, straight into the forest.
They call it horsepower for a reason 😳😬.
The ground was slick with fog, and she slipped. My feet flew out of the stirrups, and suddenly I was clinging on only with my thighs. I tried to get her under control, but just as I almost did, she cut left, then faked right. At that speed, the sudden turn whipped my body into the air…
My body was horizontal and I hit a tree so hard my friend Johnny (who was far away) thought a big dog had barked, but it was actually the sound of the impact and the air exploding out of my lungs.
I flew back five feet before crashing onto my back. For a moment, I couldn’t breathe. I was completely winded, but stayed calm and talked myself through it. My friend Marie who saw it happen was distraught because she thought I was dead, or at the very least bound for the hospital.
But somehow instead of broken bones or paralysis, I stood up. All I had was a scratch under my eye. Spirit had me. Spirit protected me😭.
The first words out of my mouth? “Make sure Bri is okay.” She was. Minutes later, I was back on the horse🤯.
In many traditions, colliding with a tree is no accident, it’s a collision with wisdom. Trees hold roots, ancestry, and grounded truth. The tree didn’t just knock me off my horse… it knocked me into clarity.
And the messages that poured in after confirmed it. The trajectory of my life shifted that day. It wasn’t random. It was divine intervention.
I think I officially earned my cowgirl badge😝🤠✨
