A mid-crisis pupdate from Saint Vincent's Home Guadalajara .
To our dear pals & benefactors:
I just finished sending out my mid September pupdate yesterday.
Unfortunately, we received no donations over the weekend.
On Saturday my costco membership card expired and I had 6,000 points credit from the past years purchases. That equals 6,000 pesos.
6,000 pesos equals 8 fifty pound bags of food. That is enough for 1 ½ days of food.
So, we ran out of food today.
With no food, no money, No luck, the bank is down to $23 in the account.
No workers showed up today. So that left me alone to deal with all of this as the dogs are hungry and becoming more aggressive. They say where there is life, there is hope.
There is very little life or hope here today.
We lost two of our better donors last month, apparently because one of our enemies, possibly a former disgruntled volunteer from years before or other jealous person slandered me to these two people. One accused me of running a concentration camp for dogs. This person lives in the city here and has never visited our place even after numerous requests to do so. She never met me or spoke on the phone. She always expressed concern for our dogs and me. Suddenly she went nuts and sent a nasty email saying she will no longer help our mission with vile accusations.
I do the best I can with what little I got.
The other person accused me of using different names and I that I was a horse doctor in Arizona. I looked up Lawrence Smith in Tucon Arizona, and there is a Dr. Lawrence Smith who is a horse doctor, but its not me. That person made no sense at all, and I think she is either losing her marbles or was on drugs.
I have had similar crazy things happen here over the past 25 years I have been running this home for dogs and we always get past it and things always get better. Its just when things seem to be going well, that something crazy like this always happens when we least expect it.
Anyway, to make a long story even longer, We need your help to be able to get food tomorrow and for the week.
We still have around 200 dogs in our care. I owe the vet for one spaying last week, and our Border Collie is in heat this week and goes into the clinic on thursday for the same spaying surgery.
If I dont pay these vet bills, the vet will not provide the services needed.
