What I ate in Kuala Terengganu 🇲🇾🍜 — Part 2

Terengganu had way too many good food spots to fit into one post 😭

This time, I’m sharing more halal places I tried around Kuala Terengganu, along with what I ordered and where you can find them.

One of the things I loved most about eating here was how many dishes felt so local to Terengganu and how every place had something different to try.

من أجمل الأشياء في السفر إنك تقدر تردّ الضيافة بطريقتك الخاص 🇹🇳🇲🇾

خلال الفترة اللي قضيتها في ماليزيا، قابلت ناس شاركوني حياتهم، أكلهم، أماكنهم، وتفاصيل يومهم، وهذا خلاني أحس بالبلد بطريقة أعمق من مجرد زيارة.

ولما إجوا أصدقائي لتونس، كان عندي حماس كبير إني أعرّفهم على بلد بنفس الروح.

مو بس أفرجيهم الأماكن، لكن كمان أخليهم ياخدوا معهم شوي من تونس: نكهات، روائح، وتفاصيل صغيرة تذكّرهم بالرحلة حتى بعد ما يرجعوا لماليزيا

لهيك حبيت أختار لهم شوية هدايا تونسية تمثّل البلد بطريقة بسيطة وحلوة

I found this café in Sapa completely by accident, and honestly, even the road there made me question whether I was actually going to a café 😅

The path is beautiful, but it feels so quiet and hidden that at some point it almost looks like you’re walking into someone’s private property.

Then you finally arrive… and it’s such a lovely little place.

Beautiful views, a cozy terrace, animals wandering around, a peaceful atmosphere, and one of my favorite egg coffees I tried in Sapa.

What made it even better was the couple running the place. They take care of everything themselves and were genuinely some of the kindest people.

It ended up being one of those places I wasn’t even looking for, but I’m so glad I found.

If you’re visiting Sapa, save this post so you don’t forget this spot 🤍

لقيت هذا الكافيه في سابا بالصدفة تمامًا، وبصراحة حتى الطريق له يخليك تتساءل شوي إذا فعلًا في كافيه في النهاية 😅

الطريق جميل جدًا، لكنه هادئ ومخبّي لدرجة تحس في لحظة إنك داخل على مكان خاص.

وبعدين توصل… وتلاقي مكان صغير وجميل جدًا.

إطلالة حلوة، تراس مريح، حيوانات حوالين المكان، أجواء هادئة، وواحدة من ألذ الـ egg coffee اللي جرّبتها في سابا.

واللي خلّى التجربة أحلى أكثر، إن أصحاب المكان زوجين وهم اللي يهتموا بكل شيء بنفسهم، وكانوا من ألطف الناس اللي قابلتهم.
من الأماكن اللي ما كنت مخططة أزورها أصلًا، لكن فرحت جدًا إني لقيتها.

أحيانًا ننتظر من الناس يعطونا الشيء اللي لازم نكون أول ناس نعطيه لأنفسنا 🤎

ننتظر التقدير.
الكلمة الحلوة.
الاهتمام.
الوقت.
الإحساس إننا مهمّين.

ومع الوقت، نبدأ نربط قيمتنا بطريقة تعامل الآخرين معنا.

بس الحقيقة إن قيمتك ما تزيد لما أحد يختارك، وما تنقص لما أحد ما يعرف كيف يقدّرك.

كل ما تعلّمت أتعامل مع نفسي بحب واحترام أكثر، كل ما صار أسهل أعرف شو أقبل وشو ما أقبل من الآخرين.

مو لأنك ما تحتاجي الناس.
لكن لأن وجودهم في حياتك لازم يكون إضافة، مو المصدر الوحيد للشعور بقيمتك.

ابدئي من نفسك.
عامليها بالطريقة اللي تتمنّي الناس يعاملوك فيها

Such wise words.

I used to think the scary part was booking the flight, going somewhere alone, leaving what was familiar, or choosing a life that looked different from what people expected of me.

But every choice costs something.

Choosing change can cost you comfort, certainty, money, relationships, or the version of you that people already understand.

But staying still has a cost too.

You can spend years waiting for the “right time,” convincing yourself that being comfortable means being safe, while quietly knowing you want something different.

Travel didn’t teach me to make reckless decisions.

It taught me that fear doesn’t always mean don’t go.

Sometimes it simply means you’re stepping outside the life you already know.

And if I’m going to have regrets either way, I’d rather have a few from trying, learning, getting things wrong, and actually living...

than spend my life wondering what would’ve happened if I had been brave enough to start.

Save this for your next trip to Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳

Hanoi is one of those cities where there’s always something to do beyond just walking around the Old Quarter.

From learning how Vietnamese coffee is made and trying iconic local drinks, to museums, massages, bookstores, cycling, and even a day trip out to Ninh Binh… there’s a lot you can fit into a few days.

Some of these were very “Hanoi,” and some were just experiences I genuinely loved and would do again.
